SocialDock ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SocialDock platform at socialdock.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our social media publishing platform. By using SocialDock, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create a SocialDock account, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed). If you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

2.2 Social Media Account Data

When you connect social media accounts (Facebook Pages, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky, or Telegram), we collect:

  • Account identifiers (page IDs, profile IDs, usernames)
  • OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens (encrypted at rest)
  • Profile information (name, profile picture URL, follower count)
  • Page and account metadata necessary for publishing content

2.3 Content You Create

We store the posts you compose, including text content, uploaded media (images, videos), scheduling preferences, and publishing history.

2.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with SocialDock, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, IP addresses, browser type, and device information. This data helps us improve the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the SocialDock platform
  • Publish and schedule content to your connected social media accounts on your behalf
  • Exchange and refresh OAuth tokens to maintain active connections with social media platforms
  • Send you notifications about your account, scheduled posts, and publishing results
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Improve our platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse

4. How We Protect Your Data

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections
  • Database access is restricted and protected by network security rules
  • We perform regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure

5. Third-Party Services

SocialDock integrates with third-party social media platforms. When you connect an account, the respective platform's privacy policy also applies:

  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads): We use Meta's Graph API and Threads API. We request only the permissions necessary to publish content on your behalf and manage your connected pages. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit: Each platform's API terms and privacy policies apply when you connect those accounts.

We do not sell or share your social media data with any third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the SocialDock service.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by:

  • Disconnecting accounts: Removes stored tokens and account data for that platform
  • Deleting your account: Permanently removes all your data, including posts, connected accounts, tokens, and personal information
  • Email request: Contact us at support@socialdock.app to request full data deletion

Upon deletion, all data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, including backups.

7. Meta Platform Data Use

In compliance with Meta Platform Terms, we affirm:

  • We only request permissions that are essential for the functionality you use (publishing to Pages, managing Instagram content, posting to Threads)
  • We do not use Meta data for advertising, data brokering, or selling to third parties
  • We do not transfer Meta user data to any data broker or ad network
  • Meta data is stored securely and access is limited to authenticated users managing their own accounts
  • Users can revoke Meta permissions at any time through the SocialDock dashboard or through Meta's app settings at facebook.com/settings

8. Cookies and Tracking

SocialDock uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Session cookies are required for the platform to function and expire when you log out or after 30 days of inactivity.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Disconnect any social media account and have its stored data removed

10. Children's Privacy

SocialDock is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of SocialDock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
